A few weeks ago, we purchased the Poäng armchair from Ikea. We figured that the chair would replace a larger armchair we had in the living room and would give us more space in the apartment.
It is a lovely chair featuring a dark frame and blue-gray cushions. It wasn’t too expensie and the cushions seem easy to clean (always important with shedding furbabies). Overall, it matches the dark wood of the living room furniture nicely. Plus the chair was easy enough to put together, which is always a plus.
In short, the chair has been a huge hit. When I say it’s a huge hit, I don’t just mean with the humans – I mean with the cats, too. It has become such a hit that I think they sit in it more than we do.
It’s not unusual for the kitties to sit on our furniture, especially when they’re in cuddly moods and join us for TV time. They all love the couch and office chairs, too. If we can’t find Olivia, for example, she’s usually sleeping in a turned-around office chair.
But there is something with this Ikea chair that is different. The kitties are obsessed with it. At pretty much all times, there’s a cat either in the chair itself or on the ottoman. It doesn’t matter if there is anything in the chair, like a bag or pile of magazines – they’ll just sit on top of it.
All this is to say that, if you are in the market for a new chair, you may want to try the Poäng armchair. It’s comfortable, easy to assemble, and easy to clean. However, you may want to consider getting a second, because if your cats are anything like ours, they’re going to love it, too.
We are not affiliated with Ikea. We just love this chair!
Is there a piece of furniture in your home that your kitty has taken over?
